| The Laboratory Animal Program is not able to acquire or
transfer controlled substances to other investigators or departments.
If controlled substances are required, a research license is available
through the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation and a
research registration is available through the Drug Enforcement
Administration (DEA). If controlled substances are required, applications should be sent to both the Illinois Department of Profession Regulation and the DEA. Illinois Department of Professional Regulation applications may be completed on forms down loaded from the world wide web (only pages 6-8 are applicable, pg. 6 - instructions, pgs. 7 & 8 - application form). Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) applications must be completed on DEA issued forms. General information about the DEA's registration process can be found on the world wide web. Additional information concerning the DEA registration process can be obtained from the local DEA Field Division office in St. Louis, MO at (888) 803-1179 or by contacting the Registration Call Center at 1-800-882-9539.
